Aftercare for Ear Piercing

  • Always wash your hands before touching your ears or earrings.
  • Keep the area clean and dry.
  • Don't pull, squeeze, or press on the earrings.
  • Avoid sleeping on the pierced ear during the first few days.
  • Clean the pierced area twice a day with an antiseptic solution recommended by our specialist.
  • After bathing, rinse gently with clean water and pat dry without rubbing.
  • Keep the area away from hairspray, perfume, makeup, shampoo, and harsh cosmetics.

Important: don't use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or iodine unless a specialist has explicitly instructed you to.

Don't

  • Don't remove or change the earrings during the healing period.
  • Avoid touching your ears unnecessarily.
  • Don't allow pressure or snagging.

Do

  • Clean according to the schedule you were given.
  • Rotate the earrings only if that's part of the instructions you received.
  • Watch for changes and react in time.
Soft tissue (lobe) min. 6 weeks

After this period: change carefully and with good hygiene.

Cartilage min. 12 weeks

Cartilage heals more slowly, don't rush it.

For sensitive skin, use hypoallergenic materials.

  • Pools, saunas, steam baths, sea and contaminated water.
  • Intense sports with risk of impact or snagging.
  • Headphones and accessories that press on the ear.

Immediately if you notice:

  • severe or increasing pain
  • redness and swelling that keep getting worse
  • pus or an unpleasant smell
  • raised temperature
  • an allergic reaction (itching, rash, severe swelling)

Important: if there are signs of inflammation, don't remove the earring before consulting a doctor.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long after ear piercing should I avoid getting the area wet?
We recommend avoiding direct wetting of the pierced area for the first 24 hours, and afterwards drying it carefully after bathing.
What should I clean newly pierced ears with?
Use a saline solution or a product recommended by the specialist who performed the procedure, twice a day.
How long should I keep the initial earrings in after piercing?
The initial earrings should stay in for at least 4 to 6 weeks, until the channel has fully healed.
Is mild redness normal after ear piercing?
Mild redness and slight sensitivity in the first few days can be normal. For severe pain, swelling, or discharge, please consult our team.
